I am truly thankful for the color in my world. And very grateful for wonderful friends who contribute that color when I cannot see it. This is a photo from my friend Melissa Ward. (Thank you!) She has generously shared the color of her world. She knows it matters to me, and people like me. She gets it. There is plenty to go around, but it needs to be shared.
Many colorful seasonal photos are all over our social spaces. I live in Florida and these pictures remind me of when I lived near New Jersey, nearer to the colors that fill the eye, the air, the sound, all the senses. My world included them, and I saw them often. They left an imprint in my brain. There is a comfort about it that I can feel. I miss them.
This photo also has the beautiful reflection aspect that seems so appropriate to what is on my mind during this month. Incredible things are happening at almost warp speed. It occurred to me this morning that what I journaled about these amazing experiences is barely more than a list. I need to return and add the details for the richness of the memorable experiences. For like the colors of fall, the amazement will be momentary, as the season moves along, our lives continue and the world of color fades.
